then people that aren't familiar with the legend of San Trinian's younger viewers perhaps how do you sell this to them well I think it basically it's a film about school and about if you're a young kid who's going to school and bored of your morose teachers it's a kind of fantasy world isn't it because sin Trinian's is an anarchic school where really the kids are in charge and the teachers are all hopelessly addicted

to cigarette smoking and drinking and really don't know what they're doing and so it's the most fabulous place to look at it I think if you have people always fascinated with some little society some subsection but it's prisoners or soldiers or it's a load of fun obviously but are you actually making any serious statements about the British school system with the film I think every really good comedy has a very serious core to it and the serious caught up

this is you know we obviously do live in a very dysfunctional education system in reality education is actually in my opinion education is not education it's imprisonment of the human brain really you send kids off to school aged seven with this vast kind of expanse like a huge beach that's untrodden this human brain and you condition it you squeeze it and you you make it into a Christian or a Muslim or and in the end it's it's really like abuse so this is a comedy

obviously but it's actually the opposite of that is it's a free-for-all for kids to express themselves as and how and when they want and without this awful injection of Authority you know as soon as we're kids were brought up to accept or become an authority and this is one of the most bogus things I think that human beings have to live through what girls and Trinian's come out ok girls Virginians absolutely come out of that system find their don't like that well they do because they bucking it I mean

that the whole point I think the reason why it's fun it's because you take on all those things rivers I take you agree actually put you compress them you know small children who are naturally undisciplined and wild and trying to have fun stick a tie on them and train them into some role that they're gonna have to fulfill later and and and you know certain way at six and you don't have to see them again until they're ready for ready for life so to speak and this is about messing with it I think you know

it's about having fun it's about the whole thing breaking down and I don't think there'd be any fun if they weren't supposed to be posted you know if they went in tires and uniforms and under supposed rod of iron there wouldn't be any joy in the rebellion how was it for you to being grown ups on set because it's a very young cast and quite a sprawling cast really did you have a lot of fun or did you feel like you were kind of taking on the role of teachers and grownups no I mean basically you you go in there and do your job we didn't work together as

much as it might appear either and I certainly didn't know this kind of ensemble of young girls and sadly I was barely encountered them mr. diamond you know people have different people working different days the girls that were legally not of an age to work normal hours it was very complicated with small kids you know you can only work a few an hour and then they've got to have 20 minutes of schools and then you go to work so we were all you know

it was it was already broken up anyway now all the male characters in this either shady dodgy dealers or these stiff upper lips Englishmen is it very much a girl-power movie then the men seem to be all these negative characters there's so much the men I think it's to do with the students it's a student grown-ups are all kind of damaged goods in a way so let's talk about Camila Fritton what a brilliant character what

did that take physically to become her every day and what were you kind of channeling to get into the character what were you drawing on physically we're just getting dressed up I mean the they're getting it together was really the hub if finally as a silhouette for finding a body that that could work with my body and that took quite a long time you know just to get it looking right getting the ankles right bottom right the breasts right the shoulder the silhouette the hair and all that so once that was done it was kind of plain

sailing actually if it was most of my work was done in the three or four months before she we basically on somebody from your past or someone that you know I was I wanted it to be a kind of upper-class battle-ax you know who liked the joint basically so she was very good to be very Tweedy and head scarfie and then at the same time kind of she definitely reminded me about a riding school teacher now are there

going to be more films in this series surely the set up for numerous sequels you've got big plans don't you well do you have plans where you'd like to see the girls causing mayhem next somewhere warm oh yes we've both decided it has to be a better location than so much justice at the end 25 next time the French exchange perhaps and then I was Russell Brand nonsense one of his

first big feature films and he's professional comedian of course so how was he I never met a monster oh I mean I most people are in this film I didn't meet on the set no I met him in the premiere the other night very nice to work with very good bright fellow bird Brides a babe magnet women just like walking down the street with him it's like being around whirlwind yes most of you haven't had that experience actors rather relief not to be on things that was extremely jealous I was hearing

reports what was going on the days it took a babe magnet yeah he's very funny he actually without the booth oh and you know the kind of weird mop of kind of helmeted pubic hair he's actually got a very very underneath it extremely handsome delicate kind of stuart type face he looks like an El Greco picture do you think including people like him makes it more relevant for kind of young TV viewers now as well I think it's great for us obviously to

have him in it because he's he's rebellious and very in keeping with the health thing films trying to do he's very popular in it as well
