could be just the fact that if you're using this method that i use a lot to duplicate faces to create something else like this fin here i did shift d to duplicate it moved it in and here's the trick now it's nothing fancy sorry about this you're gonna know this already but s to scale press y for the lock it to the y axis and press zero and that flattens this face now all the way to the side like this so that's pretty handy if you want to extrude it and you want to make sure that it goes straight out like this because if i didn't flatten it and
