hey everyone when you watch guides you might often feel like you're already doing all the things that get mentioned and that it's really hard to actually figure out what you specifically need to improve on the answer is always going to be to look back at your own replays and just check oftentimes you may not believe it but you're making mistakes all the time as we all do during the game you won't see it which is why it's so important to actually review your own gameplay in addition to learning as much as you can through resources like this guide or coaching without knowing what to look
00:30
for specifically it can be really difficult to improve so today we're going to be giving you some of the most common mistakes that every jungler makes across all elo's and showing you some things to look out for in your own replays our experts have combed through a couple of games of solo queue and didn't have to go through many before there was a lot of overlap let's get started at the start of the game most players mess up within the first minute and for a few different reasons for example hecarim has already made a mistake here what do you think that is
01:00
[Music] getting as much information at level 1 is pivotal to figuring out what to do with the rest of your game knowing where the enemy jungler starts and being able to hide what buff you're about to do from the beginning is really valuable because of this spreading out your vision line at level 1 aka a 5 point is extremely important you don't want to double up with your teammates since standing in the same spot as them doesn't give any additional information unless of course you have some plan for a level one invade some of you may be thinking well my team
01:31
isn't going to do this and you'd be correct most of the time they won't but you not spreading out from them only makes the problem worse if you can increase the amount of information you get at level 1 it's always going to be better even if you don't get all 5 people into the right spot your odds of spotting something will go up even if you do spot an invade being in the right place to actually do something about it is a different story because hecarim went to the bot side of the map when the entire enemy team is seen walking in he can't trade back vision onto the
02:01
enemy blue buff which would be the normal response in this kind of situation another extremely common mistake at level 1 is where you just place your ward what's wrong with what mundo just did in this situation hiding where the ward is is as important as getting it just so the enemy can't respond to it a war that the enemy knows about will just be walked around and it can give you a false sense of security making you think you're safer than you actually are in this location what's important here is the placement of the brush
02:34
blue side has the ability to sit in the bush and still ward pixel from it giving blue side a distinct advantage when on the side of the map when compared to bot side where red actually has the advantage when mundo walks up here it's obvious that he's going to place a ward and kane should now know that the bush is warded and act appropriately of course neither jungler plays around this well mundo made the mistake of placing the ward here in the first place and kane responds by placing his ward in the exact same spot not only alerting mundo as to exactly where the ward is but also not punishing
03:05
him for his mistake either so what should both junglers have done in that situation muno can just ward the jungle ramp where kane can't actually be without being seen this way he knows that kane has no clue where his award is placed or even if he plays it at all giving extra value kane on the other hand seeing that mundo warded early can now recall for sweeper and clear it giving valuable xp if a laner actually participates in clearing the sword with kane they can get level 2 a full wave earlier than normal meaning that a level 2 all in that
03:35
normally happens on the second wave comes completely unexpected on the first usually leading to first blood if they know how to abuse it as you can see there's a possibility of a hard punish from placing bad words like this on top of just getting little to no value out of it in general league of legends is a game of inches and advantages like this can make or break games with how often we actually see this happen it's pretty important to fix it if you've been guilty of it before moving on to another concept watch this clip carefully and let us know what you
04:05
think hecarim should do here if you said something along the lines of look for crab you're kind of right in reality us seeing viego on the bot side of the map and knowing where everyone else is as well lets us look for anything we want on the opposite side while crab is a good thing to go towards here what's better is to look for any available dives ganks and counter-jungling opportunities as well this doesn't mean don't do the crab but instead think about if you can get more than just that unfortunately if hecarim had instead
04:39
walked into the top side jungle he would have found a free gromp and wolf camp ready for him instead he recalls to find out that viego has taken the cross map play counter jungled his entire bot side and hecarim basically wanders around for over a full minute before actually doing anything this puts him super far behind diego and overall just means he's not going to be very relevant for the rest of the game even missing small things like this can be catastrophic and just to prove our point some more let's jump to some other examples kha'zix happens to die pretty early on from face shaking an enemy elise
05:10
and then is about to respawn from base he walks towards bot side but seeing that elise is top he really needs to check to see if there's anything else he can go for things to think about would be like counter-jungling the enemy raptors ganking mid or ganking bot due to knowing that elise cannot counter it because he doesn't use that information well he chooses to do crab instead of looking for the play that would normally be hard to get but is now very easy due to seeing elise on the map a bot gank here would have been extremely free but it's opportunities like this that are missed because we're not using the
05:41
information that is given to us while a cross map play would have worked here the longer we wait the harder it gets not only because elise can now be on bot side if she wanted to but also because lane states won't wait for us to finish camps you need to go when it works for the lane not when it works for you when kha'zix tries to go for the gank the wave is pushing back out and the enemy team has no real reason to walk up especially due to having a ward so he ends up wasting an absolutely massive amount of time and even tries to go mid while making the same mistake
06:12
the wave is already crashed and the gank just isn't going to happen our warwick falls prey not only to this concept from his point of view but also the enemies and he even makes an additional mistake watch this clip and try to point out the issues so right away warwick decides to hit this scrying plant which reveals his location this on its own is problematic because it alerts the enemy to exactly where you are with this info rammus is able to gank bottom and make a crossmap play knowing fully that warwick will not be
06:52
there to counter and resulting in an immediate punish as you climb higher and higher enemies will get better at abusing information and giving it away for free can completely cost you games from this point however warwick now knows that the rammus is bottom and should try to make a crossmap play as well however because he's not thinking about this he completely misses a free yank onto top lane who has absolutely zero wards and a pushing wave meaning he could have equalized the kill that rammus got and then get the crab afterwards in the other games that we've already
07:23
used for other examples this mistake happens again and again hecarim sees that his top laner is super low and going to die he's too far away at this point to actually help so once the fight is over he really shouldn't show on map at all doing so just lets viego clean up a double kill and now know exactly what camp's hecarim did by counting his cs he could have easily just hit his location on map and gone for the cross map play and ganking bot or tanking bottom crab instead he just lets viego not waste time because he now no longer needs to check the enemy
07:55
raptors and can just immediately push the wave and go back to his jungle later on he makes the exact same mistake showing up to a play that is already over and giving up information that he's going to his top side he immediately gets pinged out and diego is able to look for a cross map play on bottom grabbing the dragon that we already saw hecarim not punish for in the mundo game from before he does the exact same thing as well after full clearing and taking bottom crab he could easily just recall if there are no counter jungling or gank opportunities
08:25
this would hide his presence and make it so that the enemy has to constantly guess his location and all play around the fact that he's missing on map on top of letting him buy items to be stronger for the next fights instead he walks through mid needlessly achieving nothing besides letting the entire enemy team know that they won't be ganked and letting kane farm for free if you've ever played vs evelyn you know exactly how annoying stealth can be but the exact same thing is possible on any jungler if you just hide where you are on the map vision is everything in this game
08:56
because league is a game of incomplete information you're often making educated guesses instead of completely informed decisions when you suddenly have all the information the game just gets a lot easier streamers often complain about ghosting and rightfully so for this exact reason not knowing things and trying to figure things out is a huge part of the game and removing that by randomly showing on map all the time really ruins the amount of pressure you can have on the game for an example of one of these informed decisions we can just
09:26
look at why kha'zix ended up dying in the earlier clip if he was actually paying attention to the map he would have seen that yasuo never left lane to go ward only ever walking slightly to the top side this means that his wards can't be anywhere but in the line brush to the top of mid or if he had placed awards super early into the game it would already be expired additionally he sees set find elise and can now just press tab and look at her to see what buff she has and count her cs if you wanted to gank mid here which we can argue isn't even good in the first
09:57
place he should definitely just walk around and take a path that he knows for a fact can't be awarded something like ganking from this angle or even clearing raptors and looking from the other side would also be fine but he goes to literally the only place that could possibly be warded and not only does this waste a ton of time it also results in his death like we saw earlier this just goes to show how important information gathering is as a skill in game you'll often just miss things because you don't get enough information either from moving the camera around or
10:27
from other info like cs or buffs at the end of the day time management is the most important skill for junglers and all of these mistakes either waste time by not using it effectively or give the enemy enough information to use it against you making more informed and better decisions will result in more wins and by looking through your own replays you'll often catch information you just didn't see while playing the game one of the easiest ways to improve your consistency is to improve not only how much knowledge you can gather but also how you apply it in game and
10:59
