hey everyone we recently released a video that discussed how to abuse the terrible synergy between teammates on the enemy team in order to win and if you haven't seen it yet we really recommend that you check it out but in this video we're going to be talking about the opposite problem how do you avoid having terrible synergy amongst your own team and how do you make them play better well the answer isn't necessarily something most people want to hear and it's definitely not what you want to do in game but you have to play incorrectly most of us have some sort of an idea
00:30
about what ideal league of legends looks like in our heads and because of this you can assume that everyone on your team does as well the issue lies in everyone's version of ideal being different even if we can sit here and argue about what the technical correct play is at any given point it means absolutely nothing if everyone on our team doesn't also agree and go with it the best analogy we can use here is to imagine you're a professional jazz musician you spent your entire life perfecting your craft learning how to improv and you're about to go jam out with some middle schoolers to hopefully get them
01:00
interested in what you do and show them how awesome music can be well we show up to the middle school band and start playing a couple songs but obviously the middle schoolers suck and they can't keep up with what you can do we're not going to yell at them and wonder why they're not as good as us because the answer should be obvious we're just gonna do our best to make sure the music still sounds good even if they play wrong notes or fall out of time if we're the better player and music and in league we're going to make do with the situation no matter what instead of expecting our terrible teammates to somehow rise the level of someone
01:31
capable of adapting and making the best of a bad situation we'll just do it ourselves another example you can use is a really great chef still making an amazing dish with random stuff in their kitchen if you're truly good at what you do you'll just be able to go with the flow okay so enough analogies let's just get right to some gameplay and we're going to use a couple of smurf games that i recently played for some examples to start off i'm playing tulia into shaco and i'm massively ahead throughout the early game everything's going great i kill mid then dive bottom and right after we get another kill onto the enemy bot lane as
02:01
the wave bounces back well even throughout games like this there are going to be times where things don't go how you envision it my cho'gath is also far ahead from some early ganks i did so knowing this and having the damage to one shot gangplank it's quite obvious to me that we should dive this so in a perfect world cho'gath walks up to auto gangplank here and then i can just freely hit without worrying about tanking tower cho'gath currently has tab eyes and bramble vest as well as about almost 2k hp so he's certainly able to tank tower and this should be really free right well it would be if you were on the same
02:32
wavelength as me i woke up expecting cho'gath to walk up and dive after my slurry of pings but he simply just doesn't get the memo and wanders around aimlessly i quite literally mashed my ping button so hard that i accidentally fat-fingered flash here now i'm in full on get me out of here mode and run out on the right side while chug out distracts we miraculously somehow end up with a one for zero but this play could have gone completely terribly if i was stubborn and tried to dive regardless of my cho'gath tanking or not i would have died and given over a huge shutdown even though diving here is 100
03:04
absolutely the correct play you can't just force it if teammates aren't of the same mindset i might get frustrated that he wouldn't tank but i can't really get mad at him since i should know what to expect if half the time he actually commits this play and the other half the time he doesn't it would still be worth looking for sometimes teammates will fall online and they'll follow but if they don't you just have to carry on so you don't dig your hole deeper it's just important that you present as many winning opportunities to your teammates as possible even if they only take a small percentage of them just like the famous quote goes you miss
03:35
100 of the shots you don't take you're essentially just passing the ball to your teammates and hoping they throw it but you don't have control if the shot actually goes in or not so you just keep having to keep passing to them until it lands later on in the same game i recall after finishing a camp and i'm sitting on a ton of gold pantheon is also in base right now so knowing this our bot lane should back up right well of course so if they die here it's definitely not my fault but at the same time i shouldn't expect them to play well and now i just need to babysit you can literally see on the minimap
04:06
when leona engages and it does result in a kill but this is a really risky time to fight in general because the enemy mid and jungler are both mia i basically just instant route to bot since i know this stuff is about to go down i would absolutely love to just go far my jungle and gank on a timer that's good for me but that's just not going to happen my bot lane has already started their play and i just have to fall in line to make their risky play work out i see all too often players go to their red here and try to gank after they farm and while that's technically optimal for you what's best for the game overall
04:38
is not always going to align with your individual goals we salvage the bad play that would have been a one for two and turn things around it's just important not to be stubborn with what you want so you can work towards the greater good for another perfect example let's switch to this hecarim game where i'm against viego this game is going extremely well but it's all the more important in these kinds of games to not throw your shutdowns around like free candy we had a pretty good team fight and now i just want to go back to my jungle to farm and clear my camps before we do something else i start clearing my camps downwards and
05:08
once i get to my red i see that my teammates are pushing blindly just as two people rel is in base i'm farming and rumble's bought so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense why they would want to push up now as this is pretty much the only way we can throw this game i spam ping them back because i want them to do the play that's better for me personally and what's smarter for the team but after you ping you can't really do much else but just fall online just like how the musician in our earlier example can try to lead but if it doesn't happen it just doesn't happen while i would love to reset here i know
05:39
that my team will do something really stupid without me so while staying on the map with 2k in the bank is not the best just not being there and risking everyone inting is 100 worse i show up mid to essentially stop my metaphorical child teammates from sticking their fingers in the electrical socket that is the enemy team sure enough my orianna puts a spoon in the outlet but dad is there after a hard day of jungle clearing to salvage the play in the early game there was another babysitting moment so we'll just look at that for more proof as to how often this actually happens my gin flashes and plays at level 1 and i do an opposite side ward in the enemy
06:10
jungle this is where most people probably recall to get sleeper but if you're paying attention you'll see that my team is setting a trap for the fiesta that is about to happen so i wander over and even though i can't get my sweeper the level one does go pretty well for us most hecarims and other power farmers like to folkly here but we're always talking about why adapting our game plan is so important and this is why now knowing that no one has flash it's pretty important that i make sure none of my laners are going to sprint it even at the cost of my own efficiency is
06:39
full claim here best for me absolutely but for my team that's just not the case i end up doing red raptor's krugs here just because i see my bot lane pushing and i want to make sure i can hover it in case their jungler wants to come bot while they're crashing the wave notice at the end how i hold my skill point since if i want to full clear i can still scale q but if i needed to counter gank i would have leveled my e i finished my recall after babysitting duty and now we're going to do the same thing on the other side of the map i watch top and i'm just making sure my rumble can't randomly die to a gank so i'm just gonna show up before the
07:11
enemy jungler and make sure everyone is safe while full clearing up and going top for this kill would have been the exact same result with one more additional camp i wouldn't have been able to babysit my bot laners so even though the technical best play would have been to clear up and do this we can't really actually play it like that in the game the point is is that people will do dumb stuff and if we want to get better we need to be able to roll with the punches make things simple for your teammates use your brain so that you don't have to rely on them
07:41
doing so at the end of the day we can only trust ourselves so a lot of these plays will only work if you drop the ego and play around your teammates who are worse than you why would i rely on my bot lane managing the wave correctly when i can just show up and make it so that even if their wave management is bad the situation still works there are tons of examples that we didn't cover in this video but the idea is exactly the same basically just adapt the people around you instead of expecting your teammates to adapt to you if you're truly better than them doing
08:12
this will allow you to climb obviously you should suggest the correct play with pings but when it doesn't happen you can't really get upset adapt and evolve may be a kha'zix quote line but it really is something we should all take to heart by the way we just want to make sure you all know where this guide comes from skill capped it's the best place to be if you actually want to improve at league of legends we have the best and the most league of legends guides on the internet that really do work the best part is you don't have to take our word for it if you don't climb 5
