throughout the seasons there have always been meta-defining jungle routes like the signature red to crab of season 8 or the red blue gromp clear of season 10. but amongst all of them only one has remained a consistent and viable strategy that was stood the test of time the full clear now we know what you're thinking what is there to understand about full clearing what could be so misunderstood that we needed to make a whole video about it well folklore junglers are definitely the meta right now you see hecarim olaf kane lilia and udyr
00:31
almost every game just powering through their camps so what you really need to know is how to deal with enemies that full clear not how to full clear yourself in this video we'll be going in depth on all the different scenarios that can occur when the enemy full clears and exactly how you can take advantage of it to make sure you win but before we do let's get into our question of the day what was your favorite jungle meta and why for me it was probably season 8 while level 2 ganks are extremely toxic and unfun for laners to play against
01:00
it was amazing fun for junglers just to run around and permanently be able to showcase mechanics camille being meta also really helped as she's my favorite champion and is unfortunately not viable in the jungle at all anymore let us know in the comments below and with that let's get right into it the beginning of a league of legends game can be very similar to the beginning of a game of chess you won't see pro chess players making a lot of surprising or different moves at the start in fact most of them just memorize a response to an enemy move and know exactly what scenarios they can
01:30
end up in with that line this is called the opening and as the game drags on there will be exponentially more and more options available to the player as you get further and further away from the default position at the start of the game league is no different at the start all the waves behave the same way all the jungle camps are up the game is very predictable with only a few variations at the start but at 20 minutes that game will look nothing like any other league game that's been played before this video is basically going to be how to counter the full clear opening
02:02
there are few enough variables that we know exactly what to do to get us into a stable enough position to win the game starting off we just need to know how to classify what kind of opening we're playing one of the most important things to know when you're considering your jungle matchup is how the 315 timer impacts you we're all familiar with why the 315 mark is so important scuttle crabs spawn and the first neutral objectives of the game are available to fight over champions like karthus olaf udyr and others are capable of finishing all their camps before this timer
02:33
and making it to crab just after it spawns other champions like zack echoes and zao etc are not so lucky no matter how good you are at the champ you just won't be able to clear before that timer no matter what you do so the first thing you need to know is can you make it before 315 or not and can the enemy even if your timers haven't made the cut before make sure to check that you're actually doing everything in your power to clear as fast as possible champions like rek'sai aren't thought to be able to clear by 315
03:04
but with unique room setups and a decent leash you actually can sometimes a little bit of optimization goes a long way and if you're looking for a few tips to speed up your clear make sure to check out our why your clear speed sucks video for some neat tips it's uploaded on our hyper improvement system at skillcap.com we have professional courses by the top players smurf commentaries where a challenger player walks you through how to climb out of every rank from iron to diamond and we upload tons of new exclusive guides to our website each week in fact we're so confident you'll improve using our system that if you
03:35
don't climb at least five divisions while actively using skill caps you can claim a full refund so there's no risk what are you waiting for check out skillcap.com and get the rank you've always wanted link in the description below let's jump right back in if we know our champions clear timer and the enemies now we can essentially classify our match up in a few different ways true true true false false true and false false this means there are four different interactions when it comes to the 315 timer and now we just need a couple of other pieces of information to figure out what
04:07
to do let's just use an example of a true true match up for starters in this game i'm playing viego into hecarim both champs are definitely capable of meeting that 3 15 mark so now we have to look at our second bit of info decide what to do are we pathing it to the same side true or false in this case we saw hecarim start blue and saw him start to clear up so now we know one of a few situations will happen one we can both full clear and meet at crab the ensuing fight is influenced by a couple of different factors
04:38
which lanes have priority who will rotate to move to the crab first and who wins the fight is your 1v1 stronger 2v2 3v3 or even 4v4 going to go in your favor based on lane states hp on every champ involved and other factors like summoners make an educated guess on who wins the ensuing fight if you estimate that it's greater than a 50 chance go ahead and contest the crap solve for time for your laners to move if you need to two if you lose the fight just go for bottom crab or a gank on the other side of the map
05:08
there's no point contesting a crab that's going to force a bad fight these are the two simplest scenarios but better yet is if we can figure out who's going to win the fight ahead of time in this particular game i looked at my lane states and saw that my top laner was extremely low on hp compared to the enemy in addition her wave was being shoved in from here i basically know that a fight at top crab wouldn't go in my favor since volley could just rotate so i have a couple of different options to pick from one i can abandon the idea of top crab altogether and just go to my
05:39
blue clear gromp and wolves and then go to bottom crab two i can look to do something on the other side of the map before the 315 timer to change my situation this could be anything from an invade to a gank or dive i obviously want to be able to get the same side crab since winning the contest would put me up in xp and gold so this is definitely the better option if anything is available i opt for option 2 and look to go straight top knowing that certain champs tend to full clear makes them predictable and more often than not he won't be here
06:09
to counter the gank he shows up late after ditching in the middle of his krugs to get here and i score a double kill now i can obviously just walk to the top crab and secure it winning me the early game advantage so let's go look at the other 315 timer scenarios when the enemy jungler is pathing into you this one is going to be when you can full clear by 315 and the enemy jungler cannot or chooses not to in this game i'm playing udyr into olaf olaf is definitely capable of full clearing so i start off this game with the assumption that we're going to be pathing into the same side and be the
06:40
same level this means that the top and mid matchups would help determine who wins and throughout my clear i see that riven is higher hp than gnar and my zed is getting pushed onto the enemy lane while he's full hp i'm pretty confident that if both of us full clear i'd win so i'm happy to continue doing so things change however when he shows on map now i know that olaf interrupted his full clear and won't be able to get level 4 before the crab meaning that i can pretty much just brute force any play here and win through sheer stats alone he essentially tried to do what i did in
07:11
the viego game but did his play much too late on the timer if the enemy jungler was someone who naturally just can't clear before 315 i would be able to always brute force this same idea if they don't look to go for a gank i can just force a fight on the crab with my level advantage or invade them on their camps so obviously the ability to clear quickly makes a jungler strong because of this so what do you do in the opposite situation where you don't clear quickly and the enemy does for this let's just look at the current rank 1 player and see how he handles it
07:42
allah starts at red and leeson starts it blue so they're destined to meet on the same side of the map because lee can't hope to contest olaf at level three to level four on the crab you pretty much have two different ideas here one is that you clear five camps and then you can test the opposite crab this puts you at level 4 while making sure that the enemy jungler can't counter jungle your raptors and that they also don't get both crabs you'll be one camp behind them but that's often okay in these kinds of matchups two is similar to the idea from the viego game interrupt or clear or make a
08:13
play on the other side of the map before the 315 timer boogie attempts to do this but unfortunately ends up missing his q resulting in the play being lost however the important thing is not to look at the execution but the intent if the rank 1 player was willing to go for this he must have thought his chances to win it were pretty high and in this game it just so happens that he messed up mechanically alright so we've got one more scenario and that's where both junglers can't clear by 3 15. so let's take a peek at some challenger solo queue again for another example
08:43
this game is a graves versus lee sin match-up and both of them start on the bot side of the map once again putting them on a collision course at talk crab both junglers opt to do a pretty similar thing here they clear the highest number of camps they can before 3 15. then they show up to crab on time it's a very common mistake for lower elo players to try and full clear in the scenario even though they know that their champion can't make it on that timer it's definitely worth it to skip a camp and go for the crab contest for example if graves hadn't skipped his grandpier he wouldn't have been able to
09:15
show up to stop lee from taking top crap and then would lose out on both of them being put behind in camps however because he does he's able to use his superior skirmishing and lane pryo to push lee off the crab secure the level 4 and then get the other crab winning the early game the main mistake here from lee was not recognizing that his lanes would be weaker and that he shouldn't go for it he could have easily done the five camps into botcrab just like what we suggested in the last example he would come out pretty much even and then be able to look to continue playing the game from that state
09:46
it's just important not to fall super far behind early if you can make it through the first clear without being at a deficit you'll have a much higher chance of winning the game as expected graves goes on to end the game handily snowballing from this early advantage okay so that's all the different scenarios when you're pathing into the same side but what about the opposite side in this game i'm playing talia vs shaco both junglers are capable of clearing in 315 but in this game shaco starts bot side and i start topside because of this i'm much less concerned with getting to crab on time or doing my
10:17
camps i'm instead going to look for plays knowing that shaco won't be around to counter them i do three camps look at the mid lane lane state and realize that it looks like a pretty free gank i'm not worried about the 1v1 at crab so not having red buff or level 4 isn't an issue and now it's just down to snowballing lanes and myself right after i could go take the crab and secure it for myself but again i know that shaco won't be on this side of the map so i opt to just dive bottom instead when you're pathing to the opposite side it's just not as important what your clear speed is which means sometimes
10:48
it's good to intentionally not pass them to the other jungler if you know they clear faster than you in this game bmx is playing kane into lilia but messes up his raptors a bit which delays his clear by a lot he ends up finishing at around 3 30 which for kane is definitely slow and if he were pathing into the lilia he would have had to skip a camp or risk losing the crab for free however because he knew that lilia was going towards top side he was able to take his time and then look for a play onto the enemy bot lane grabbing a double kill if at any point during his clear he saw a free gank opportunity
11:19
he could have taken it just like in the taliyah example from before opposite side paths are once again just a lot less complicated against a full clear you pretty much just want to take away your whole starting side to prevent any counter jungling but then once you're on to the other side of the map you're free to do whatever you want whether that's ganks dives or if you can't find any proactive plays just farming your camps alright so that pretty much covers just about everything you need to know about countering a full clear we hope you enjoyed the video if you want to improve fast and get the rank
