How to Edit Automatic Closed Captions on YouTube Step One On the screen displaying the video click “CC” below the video box. Step Two Click the option called “English (automatic)” on the right of the screen. Step Three Click “edit” on the bottom right hand of the screen, and then click “Overwrite”. Step Four You can now view and edit the captions generated by YouTube based on the audio of your video. Make timing and visual adjustments to the captions by changing their length and positioning them to match the audio in the video. Step Five Click “Publish” on the bottom right corner of the screen.
Once you publish your edits the correct captions will appear
