The Live Time Closed Captioning System

Hearing loss affects 48 million people in the United States alone.

One of the biggest challenges that comes with being hearing-impaired is the inability to communicate with your loved ones or even strangers

A simple conversation- an essential component of human interaction can in many cases become impossible, even with advances in treatment and technology. Hello, my name is Daniil Frants and on behalf of Frants Innovators, Inc. I bring you the Live Time Closed Captioning System. The Live TIme Closed Captioning System is a revolution in assistive technology for the hearing impaired. It is an on head wearable display which provides the user with closed captioning for real life events as they happen, live. This head-worn display can be attached to virtually any glasses or empty frames, if the user does not wear glasses normally. It is wirelessly connected to a smartphone-sized microcomputer in the user's pocket, which, in turn, is connected to a microphone on their person. Using voice recognition software the audio bytes collected by the microphone are translated to text which appears on a scrolling banner on the head-worn display. This is done so quickly and frequently that the captions are able to keep up with live human speech -- similar to the closed captioning one would see on television. When head worn displays first began hitting the market people had thousands of ideas and questions about how this amazing technology could be used One that interested me in particular was, "How can we use this technology to help the hearing impaired?" In its early phases, this project was about getting one of those devices to perform this function, which could potentially change the lives of millions of people. Unfortunately we found that no existing device was well suited for this purpose, so we decided to make our own. The LTCCS is wholly dedicated to providing closed captioning and is therefore perfectly suited to keep up with a real, live conversation.

Over the past two years, my team and I have spent countless hours developing a functioning prototype

We've come as far as we can on our own, but there's still a lot of work to be done. Now we need your help IndieGoGo. Please support the LTCCS campaign, so that together we can change the lives of millions of people.
