yo what's up guys Jack here and today we're going to be taking a look at the NVIDIA GeForce experience and video contacted me and said hey we've got some really cool new features in this piece of software and we like you to do kind of like an overview with your audience it's free to use if you have an Nvidia card and we'd like to sponsor a video for you now I use this all the time for shadow play driver updates etc and it's very useful I know the software pretty well so it made sense I'm using the beta
00:30
version of GeForce experience here so there's a couple of extra features in it but if you want to get the beta you can download it for yourself here link is in the description if you want to get it the easy way so what GeForce experience all about then and what are the practical uses kicking things off with drivers drivers are very important for PC gamers if you don't have up-to-date drivers your games won't run as well and may contain graphical bugs and glitches they might end up looking like this obviously that's pretty bad EFE does that wall
01:03
automatically so if there is a new driver it will notify you so you can download and install it very simple and you can actually select it so automatically downloads and then will ask you if you want to install it you can do it that way if you want so this way you've got the most up-to-date drivers it also has game ready drivers too so if there's a new game coming out there'll be wh ql certified drivers for it on day one that the game releases so you're not going to have to wait a week to get the best performance now moving on to the share section there's some really cool stuff in here this has been
01:34
renamed from shadow play and they've actually added a swanky looking in-game UI for it too if you're in a game you just press Alt + Z at the same time it's worth noting too that you can still just press Alt + f9 to start recording a game if you want to completely ignore the UI what can you do with this then well you can locally record videos of your game up to 4k and 60fps at 130 bit rate which is insane and there's practically no performance loss it'll show your FPS too if you want to add that option you can
02:04
also record up to the last 20 minutes of gameplay using the instant replay feature so if you forget to record hit the hotkey and it will make that video file for you you can stream your game to youtube and twitch as well if you want to 1080p 60fps or 726 dear if you want depends of course on your upload speed plus your microphone and a webcam if you choose to do that some feedback for the devs though we still don't have a separate audio lines in the recorded video files which means that we can't adjust volumes or mute microphone game sound and teamspeak sound individually
02:36
which a lot of people really really want and I think this is quite important for content creators it'd be nice to see that implemented eventually have like an advanced tick box for advanced users by default keep it simple but let us have multiple audio streams if we want also as for twitch and YouTube streaming there's no way to hook in donations subscribers and follow pop-ups yet so if you're looking for a one button press solution for streaming GeForce experience is going to give you that but if you want more advanced options I'd recommend using a program like open
03:08
broadcaster software instead moving on check this out here stream what can you do here now this is pretty impressive in my opinion this allows you to stream your game and then send an invite to someone to either watch it play for you or play with you let me just give you a quick demo of how it works so here's my pc currently running battlefield 4 and then my mate barry calls me and says oh Jack I want to watch you play some beer for ok bye no problem so I click here
03:38
and send him an invite now over at Barry's house just imagine that the laptop over here is in Barry's house and it's a crappy old laptop that doesn't run games very well but it's on a different network he then receives the email invite accepts it and as long as he's using a Chrome browser he can watch my game it's pretty cool but wait there's more Barry says to me Oh Jack that looks like a good game can i play now surely not you thinking no not like this Oh oh look at that yes the host can
04:11
actually give the other person control of their PC so now Barry is playing my PC game on his old laptop on his own network that's pretty impressive another scenario as an example you like playing Fifa with your mate when he comes over your place because you've got some sick gaming PC and you may it loves it because he hasn't got FIFA or a PC to play it on but this time today he's got manfully or girl flu if he makes a girl so they ain't coming over because you don't want to get ill no
04:41
problem you can load up FIFA on your PC and just send them an invite to play and if they've got a controller at home they could use the keyboard of course it's as if they're playing with you or against you as long as they have a Chrome browser on their device they can join in and play on your client as if they were there like they don't even have to have an nvidia card for this to work either in terms of quality it doesn't look exactly like you're playing on the game there is some encoding going on here of course because it's a video stream and at the moment the quality is limited to
05:12
720 60fps but I have to say I felt very little input lag and the quality was fine and easily good enough to play GeForce experience also has game stream and this lets you stream your gaming PC to another device so for example here I'm playing some rocket League on my big TV downstairs using the Nvidia shield that I've got plugged in so the game is streaming from my PC upstairs on ultra settings maxed out to this little box here and this is giving me full 1080p 60fps over wired network and it looks
05:44
great it basically means that I don't have to look my PC around the house when I want to use a bigger TV and just chill on the sofa maybe play some single-player games with a controller for example the last thing I wanted to show you guys is the optimized game section if you come over to the games tab and click scan for games it will detect all of the games that you've got installed on your system and then it will look at what graphics card and CPU you have and detect what it thinks are the optimal settings for that game it'll even down sample to a high resolution if it thinks that you can run out higher
06:16
than your native resolution and still maintain 60 FPS frame rates keep in mind you don't have to use this like it's an optional click to activate for each game sort of thing you can just do the old-school way if you want to and configure the in-game graphics options for yourself or even a mix of both but if you want a one-click optimization where you don't have to worry about what anti aliasing anisotropic filtering and HB no plus R then this will do all of that for you it's going to scan your games your hardware spec reference it to a database and automatically selects what
06:48
it thinks are the optimal settings you can tweak it to prioritize performance or quality to if you want pretty cool and very handy for new PC gamers out there who've maybe come from console games and aren't used to setting up their games graphics options if you highlight over each graphic setting it's going to bring up a nice explanation of what it is - so on my end for bf4 hardline and rocket league it got it pretty bang on in my opinion but for csgo it wanted to downscale the resolution to 4k and I would definitely not want to
07:19
play csgo at 4k it'd be nice if down sampling or dynamic super resolution as Nvidia call it was a global option you could disable for one-click optimization and that's about all guys I think I've covered most of the things there let me know your thoughts down in the comments below if you've got any improvements or additions that could be pretty useful for GeForce experience then let's have them let's see your opinion as always thanks for watching give me a thumbs up if you enjoyed the video and I'll see you in the next one
