Transcribe audio to text
Transcribing audio with Speech Pad Press transcription button and go to transcription panel Choose audio to transcribe. I want to transcribe Youtube clip I copy the Youtube ID of that video to my player Press refresh button.
Now, clip is loaded I set the most common settings in the transcribing panel
May be I will change some of them later I set "Noise protection" to seven second "Length of preview buffer" to two hundred And "Number of symbols before restart" to seventy I check the "Insert time labels" checkbox. These time stamps helps me to adjust the obtained transcription I leave the "Run synchronously with the recording" checked I uncheck the "Execute voice commands" and "Replace punctuation" checkboxes. Because they can spoil my transcription Now I must send sound from the player to microphone. This can be done either by stereo mixer or by virtual audio cable. I have in my Windows a stereo mixer, so I use it Go to right bottom of the desktop.
Right click on the speakers icon And press the "Recording device" menu item Now I must to disable microphone and enable the Stereo Mixer
The sound will go from the speakers to microphone Go to SpeechPad again Now, all is prepared and I press "Start recording" button The transcription will appear in the output field Stop the recording. It is enough for the demo Now I have the transcription I want slighty arrange the text I press the "Time labels to SRT" and get text in Youtube format But it contains errors. I press "SRT to time labels" Now, I get some alignement in my text I want to edit this text. I hide recording panel Looks better Uncheck the "Run synchronously with the recording" checkbox Check "Start from time labels" checkbox Put cursor in any place of text And either press play button or use hot key for this button The corresponding fragment of audio will be played I simply listen and edit the text manually
